Tattoo Safety Guides

These are the important preventive measurements for you to adhere to before, during and after the process of applying tattoo.

Before

* You must be fit and healthy both physically and mentally on the day of performing tattoo work
* All your tattoo equipments are clean, new and sealed, autoclave sterilized and properly organized
* Your work area is sanitized, clean and well lit
* Wash and dry your hands thoroughly before you start any tattoo work

During

* You must wear protective gloves at all times
* If you are using disposable materials and equipments, use only new and sealed sterile packages
* If you are using reusable materials and equipments, use only autoclave sterilized ones
* Tattoo equipment should be sterilized using an autoclave following every use

After

* Destroy and dispose of tattoo needles in a sharps container
* Properly dispose of contaminated materials such as leftover ointment, water, inks, ink caps, paper towels, cotton swabs and protective gloves
* Disposable equipments must also be properly discarded, i.e. grips, tips and tubes
* Wash and dry your hands thoroughly after you have completed any tattoo work
